While we were standing at the Science Centre this evening waiting for the rain to stop (which it didn't), a few of us were talking about the joys of printing and the sometimes huge difference between what you see on screen and what you see on the printed page. That led on to a chat about colour calibration.

This seems to be a subject which terrifies a lot of people and yet a little work can reap enormous results.

There is a website called Computer Darkroom which is a terrific all-round site for the person interested not only in taking good images, but printing them out succesfully. In particular, the section on Colour, Calibration and Printing is highly recommended and gives easy to follow instruction on how to get the best print results from your imaging software and printer.

Highly recommended.

I used the clubs colourmunki to calibrate my two 21" LCD's and my epson printer to match, getting fantastically consistent results now...
